About the course:

This Site Safety Plus course is for those delegates who are considering, or already, working within the construction and civil engineering industry

Overview

The course is design to highlights potential hazards when working on site and provides practical advice on how to keep yourself and your colleagues safe. Also, it covers your individual and employer’s responsibilities as well as what to do if you think anyone’s health and safety is being put at risk.

This course provides health and safety awareness and is recommended by Build UK as standard training for all operatives on site.

The training is at our Croydon site and is delivered by qualified Trainers with years of teaching experience in construction

Certification for this course is valid for 5 years. You will need to retake the course before the expiry date in order to remain certified in this area.

What will I gain?

At the end of the course you will have an understanding of:

  1. the need to prevent accidents
  2. health and safety law
  3. how your role fits into the control and management of the site
  4. risk assessments and method statements
  5. performing safely and asking for advice
  6. how to report unsafe acts to prevent an accident

Course Content: 

  1. Workers’ individual responsibilities for their own safety and the safety of others
  2. Typical construction hazards and how these are controlled
  3. How everyone can help achieve better practical standards of safety on site
  4. Legal requirements and liabilities
  5. Working at height
  6. Manual Handling
  7. Fire prevention
  8. Work equipment
  9. Occupational Health

Upon successful completion of the HSA course, delegates will have to take CSCS Online Computer test and CSCS Labourers Card (Green Card) will be awarded to those that passed the computer text. This CSCS is a leading certification within the construction field

Assessment Method: 

  1. Multiple-choice test.
  2. Continuous assessment.

Qualification: CITB Site Safety Plus certificate.

Duration: 1 day

What are the entry requirements?

There is no specific entry requirement. However, you will need to be able to read and write. Please contact us if you have any concerns in this area.

You will need to provide a valid ID on the first day of the course, such as a copy of your passport or driving licence.  See accepted forms of ID.

Progression route

The course is the first step towards a CSCS Labourers Card (Green Card) and it will enable you to progress unto CITB Site Safety Plus courses that range from operative training, up to Supervisor, Site Manager and Director Health and Safety courses.
