About the course

As an Early Years Practitioner, you will work and interact directly with children on a day-to-day basis supporting the planning of and delivery of activities. An EYP works as part of a professional team ensuring the welfare and care for children under the guidance and supervision of an Early Years Educator, teacher, or other qualified professional in the Early Year setting.

Course Structure:

The duration of this programme is 12 months, and students are expected to attend all the monthly training sessions with their assigned tutor at Croydonsam Training. Alongside the 12 months programme, your assigned tutor will support you to complete and achieve your level 2 diploma + Functional skills Maths and English level 1. 

As part of the programme, reviews will be held every 8-12 weeks with your assigned tutor. These reviews are important as they will support you to gather the relevant evidence for your portfolio which will include direct observations.

Your employer will be informed of your progress on a regular basis including your readiness to undertake the end point assessment.

Course Content: 

  • Safeguarding, protection and welfare of babies and young children in Early Years Settings
  • Understand how to support children’s development
  • Support care routines for babies and young children
  • Promote play in an Early Years Setting

 

What are the entry requirements?

Math and English GCSEs C/4 or above or Functional skills level 1

Apprentices without English or Math’s at Level 1 must achieve this prior to taking the end point assessment.

About the course

The role of an Early Years Educator involves many components. This qualification will equip you with the skills and knowledge that will enable you to work with children from birth to 6 years.

Course Structure:

The duration of this programme is 18 months, and students are expected to attend all the monthly training sessions with their assigned tutor at Croydonsam Training. Alongside the 18 months programme, your assigned tutor will support you to complete and achieve your level 3 diploma + Functional skills Maths and English level 2.

About the course

This programme is suitable for those who are currently working as a practitioner. These settings include but are not limited to children’s home, residential special school etc. The purpose of the course is to equip learners with the ability to deal with the different challenges associated with these settings. It will also teach you how to develop children’s placement plans that is tailored to their needs, health, and education. 

Within this apprenticeship you will also need to complete the: NCFE/CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care

This course is designed for those that wants to develop their skills and knowledge or are currently working in the care sector. It will equip you with skill and knowledge needed to help and support adults who are faced with physical, practical, social, emotional, or intellectual challenges to achieve their personal goals.

About the course

This course will prepare you as a leader in adult care. As part of the programme, you will learn how to ensure the service being provided to those in your care is safe, efficient and meets all their needs. You will also be equipped and responsible for the ensuring regulatory compliance of the care given and the values and training of staff. Those who are part of the programme will usually be a registered manager of a service, unit, deputy or assistant manager.

About the course

The aim of the Level 5 Diploma for the Early Years Senior Practitioner qualification is to support leadership and management skills in the early years and the knowledge and skills relating to the early years practice.

The Early Years Senior Practitioner will be a positive role model for the team. Through clear leadership and effective management, the Senior Practitioner will support and promote best practices within legislative requirements to enable quality provision. Working collaboratively with colleagues, other professionals, and parents/carers the Senior Practitioner engages and motivates all involved for improved outcomes for babies and children.

Course Structure:

To achieve the Level 5 Diploma students must obtain a minimum of 90 credits QCF credits from all 18 mandatory units.

What are the entry requirements?

It is recommended that student must have Level 2 in English and Mathematics and a minimum of a Level 3 in relevant qualification. Also, Students will be required to take initial assessments prior to their place on the course being confirmed.

Do you need to be working to take the qualification?

Yes, in order to take the qualification, the student needs to be working in the role of Leader, Deputy, or Manager in an appropriate setting, or have the opportunity to carry out the responsibilities associated with these roles through volunteering.

Assessment Method:

Portfolio of evidence and EPA. (EYSP 2 and EYSP 12 is assessed using an externally set and internally marked task).

Qualification: Level 5 Diploma in Early Years Senior Practitioner

Course Mode: Full time/Part time

Progression route?

Through achieving this qualification, you will be able to progress within the workforce or to Higher Education in a relevant subject area.

Course Duration:

18 – 24 months

About the course

This programme is suitable for those who are currently working in the role of Deputy or Manager in residential childcare settings, or have the opportunity to carry out responsibilities associated with these roles. These settings include but are not limited to children’s home, residential special school etc. The purpose of the course is to equip learners with the ability to manage practice and lead others associated with these settings.

Within this apprenticeship you will also need to complete the NCFE CACHE  Level 5 Diploma In Leadership And Management For Residential Childcare (England)

Course Structure:

The duration of this programme is 24 months, and students are expected to attend all the monthly training sessions with their assigned tutor at Croydonsam Training. Alongside the 24 months programme, your assigned tutor will support you to complete and achieve your level 5 diploma + Functional skills Maths and English level 2.

As part of the programme, reviews will be held every 12 weeks with your assigned tutor. These reviews are important as they will support you to gather the relevant evidence for your portfolio which will include direct observations.

Learners will need to be working in the role of Deputy or Manager in an appropriate setting, or have the opportunity to carry out responsibilities associated with these roles
